I was first introduced to futures trading in 1983. I was classically trained in Western technical analysis. When I was exposed to the art of the Japanese Candlesticks. I spent countless hours and hours of learning the basics, the pattens and the overall edge in would gain. I memorized all of the candlestick patterns available to me and continued that process until each and every pattern was internalized.

My first major epiphany came when I realized that the beauty of this technique is it quantifies market sentiment into a mathematical formula
